GARLIC
As a medicine Garlic has many curative properties: aids with treatment of asthma, deafness, leprosy, bronchial, congestion, hardening of arteries, fevers, worms and liver and gall bladder trouble, vaginal infections such as thrush and other infections, preventing DVT (due to the blood thinning properties),tuberculosis, catarrhal disorders and cough. It is also said to releive nicotene poisioning and build the immune system . In studies, garlic has been found to have antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal activity.
Garlic is used to prevent certain types of cancer, including stomach and colon cancers.
Animal studies, and some early research studies in humans, have suggested possible cardiovascular benefits of garlic
Garlic has blood thinning properties that promote better flow and better health
Nutritional Value: Garlic is said to be good for the heart, stimulates appetite, and is an energy tonic. When crushed, Allium sativum yields allicin, an antibiotic and antifungal compound (phytoncide). It also contains the sulfur-containing compounds alliin, ajoene, diallylsulfide, dithiin, S-allylcysteine, and *-, B vitamins, proteins, minerals, saponins, flavonoids, and Maillard reaction products, which are not sulfur-containing compounds. Furthermore, a phytoalexin (allixin) was found, a nonsulfur compound with a γ-pyrone skeleton structure with antioxidant effects, antimicrobial effects, antitumor promoting effects, inhibition of aflatoxin B2 DNA binding, and neurotrophic effects. Allixin showed an antitumor promoting effect in vivo, inhibiting skin tumor formation by TPA and DMBA initiated mice.Analogs of this compound have exhibited antitumor promoting effects in in vitro experimental conditions. Herein, allixin and/or its analogs may be expected useful compounds for cancer prevention or chemotherapy agents for other diseases.
Per 100g of Garlic the nutritional value is- taces of vitamin A, Vitamin B Thiamin 25mg, Niacin 5mg, Vitamin C 15mg, Calcium 29mg, Iron 1.5mg, Phosphorus 202mg, Potassium 29mg, Protein 6.2mg, Fat 2gm, Carbohydrates 30.8mg and Calories 137.

History & Facts of Garlic: Garlic has a long proven history as a protector from disease and a not so proven history of fending off evil spirits (such as vampires). For these reasons, garlic is not only consumed as a healthy food and medicine but it is also worn to fight various ills.
Several cultures around the world still use garlic to this very day for religious rituals and protection
Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, used garlic in infectious diseases and particularly prescribed it for intestinal disorders. 12th century German mystic Hildegarde von Bingen recommended simmering garlic in water for twenty minutes and drinking the "tea" for bronchial problems like asthma. This treatment is still in use in many cultures. Three cloves of garlic in boiling water is also recommended as a topical cure for athlete's foot. Additionally, garlic was used extensively in the battlefields during World War I (1914-1918) to treat and dress wounds and infections. Being a natural antibiotic and widely available, it was the most effective antiseptic available at the time
Maximum Daily Dosage:
PLEASE NOTE GARLIC SHOULD BE TAKEN RAW - COOKING IT WILL COOK OUT MOST IF NOT ALL OF ITS HEALING PROPERTIES RENDERING IT ONLY USEFUL FOR TASTE WITH LITTLE TO KNOW HEALTH BENEFIT.
One clove of garlic weighs more or less 1.5 gm.

NOTE: THERE IS LITTLE INFORMATION TO SAY WHAT AGE IS SAFE FOR A BABY/CHILD TO EAT GARLIC, ONE CAN ONLY ASSUME AS THE ONLY INFORMATION TO BE FOUND REGARDING BABIES AND GARLIC IS THAT THE SMELL CAN SOMETIMES SLOW DOWN AND LENGTHEN FEEDS FROM A MUM WHO HAS EATEN GARLIC AND IT COULD (BUT MIGHT NOT) CAUSE WIND IN BABIES THAT IT IS RELATIVLY SAFE.... THOUGH I WOULD NOT ADVISE GIVING GARLIC TO BABIES UNCOOKED AS GARLIC CAN BURN AN ADULT WHEN CHEWED INSTEAD OF SWALLOWED (THOUGH I FIND ITS NICE WHEN EATTEN WITH SOUR CREAM OTHERS USE HONEY) AND BABIES JUST DO NOT HAVE A WELL DEVELOPED FOOD SWALLOWING ABILITY YET, SO ANY GARLIC GIVEN SHOULD BE COOKED IN FOODS FOR BABIES.
Side effects & cautions:
- PEOPLE WITH BLOOD CLOTTING PROBLEMS,PEOPLE WHO HAVE RECENTLY HAD SURGERY, WOMEN WHO HAVE RECENTLY GIVEN BIRTH, MISSCARRIED AND PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD AVOID USE OF GARLIC DUE TO ITS BLOOD THINNING PROPERTIES
- GARLIC CAUSED BAD BREATH AND UNPLEASENT SMELLS THAT ARE RELEASED THROUGH THE PORES OF THE SKIN OF ANYONE WHO HAS EATEN IT- BASIL, MUSHROOMS AND MILK HAS BEEN PROVEN TO REDUCE THE SMELL IF CONSUMED AT THE SAME TIME AS YOU CONSUME THE GARLIC
-AGED/OLDER GARLIC CONTAINS LESS BENIFICIAL COMPOUNDS THAN THE FRESH
-SOME PEOPLE SUFFER FROM ALLERGIES TO GARLIC, IF ANY SIGNS OF AN ALLERGIC REACTION APPEAR DISCONTUE USE AND SEEK MEDICAL ADVICE
-GARLIC CAN CAUSE INDERGESTION, VOMITTING OR DIARREAH IN SOME PEOPLE IF THESE SYMPTOMS OCCUR DISCONTINUE USE
- THE SAFETY OF GARLIC SUPPLIMENTS HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED FOR CHILDREN
-GARLIC CAN SOMETIMES CAUSE BAD WIND IN BABIES ESSPECIALLY THOSE WHO HAVE BREASTFED FROM MUM WHO HAS CONSUMED LARGE AMOUNTS OF GARLIC, OTHER BABIES WILL SLOW IN FEEDS DUE TO THE ODOR RELEASED IN THE BREASTMILK AND OTHERS WILL SUCKLE FOR LONGER (THUS CREATING BETTER SUPPLY OF MILK) - HOWEVER, ALL WILL DEPEND ON HOW EACH BABY REACTS.

CAYENNE PEPPER
As a medicine cayenne pepper contains GREAT curative properties: Cayenne Pepper is the ONLY known PROVEN substance that can stop a heart attack, it also has the proven ability to stop internal and external hemorrages, ease period strength and pain, clear the sinus and detoxify the body. It aids with cholestorol and supports blood flow with its properties and substances going straight to the heart when consumed and circulating through the body through the vains.
Nutritional Value:rich highest concentrations of minerals, vitamins and certain phyto-nutrients.Early laboratory studies on experimental mammals suggest that capsaicin has anti-bacterial, anti-carcinogenic, analgesic and anti-diabetic properties. When used judiciously it also found to reduce triglycerides and LDL cholesterol levels in obese individuals.
It contains very HIGH levels of vitamin C + A, 100 g of cayenne peppers provides 2014 mg of pottasium, B-complex group of vitamins such as niacin, pyridoxine (vitamin B-6), riboflavin and thiamin (vitamin B-1). ,high amounts of iron and copper.
Maximum Daily Dosage:
20grams (ANYTHING ABOVE 20g CAN CAUSE DIARREAH)
It is advised that a newbie to Cayenne pepper health doesnt take more than 1/4 of a teaspoon to allow your body to get used to such a strong substance.
It is best used as a powder in hot water (hence the name Cayenne Pepper Tea), When used this way it works its best and quickest going directly to the heart and vains and clearing sinus immediately. Very Effective if you are unwell. Some find it burns a bit going down but it doesnt last long, the immediate feeling however turns a lot of people off (I find adding a little Lemon stops any burning sensation, when Lemon is added it is also known as a Cayenne Pepper detox)
Capsules are also available for people who dont like the idea of the immediate tempory tingly/burning sensation- however you need to be aware that this method is not as effective as the cayenne pepper tea nor does it work as fast, the capsules also often cause dizzyness, queazyness and cramps due to it being absorbed by the stomach lining first instead of by the vains and heart which was the primary intent for this remedy.

- A MEDICAL STUDY CONCLUDED THAT IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO BANANAS, LATEX, KIWI, CHESTNUTS & AVOCADO YOU MAY BE ALLERGIC TO CAYENNE PEPPER (note you may not either as I am allergic to 3 of those things and can still have cayenne pepper)
