Raising a family is a very simple yet very hard and tiring exercise.
There are many important factors involved in rasing children- these include; Routines ( some families dont have routines and are perfectly fine and happy, however most parents who have any more than one child know that life is a LOT harder without some kind of at least basic routine in play in fact it can be at times down right impossible to manage your time and day without a routine), Rules (even families with just one child should have at least some kind of basic house rule- whether its take your shoes off before entering the house, or we draw on paper not walls - it is down right impossible to effectivily raise any child without at least some kind of rule - this is how children learn right from wrong and helps parents to maintain the home enviroment to a degree). Planning ahead can also be needed in managing a family - by planning ahead I dont just mean planning out meals or shopping lists (though this can be quite a frugal exercise and can save a lot of money) I mean planning ahead on what you are going to do or need to do over the next week- the times you need to do those things, the places you need to be, how you are going to get there, is care needed for the children - if yes find someone to care for them or arrange time off from work- if no how are you going to travel with the children and complete the activity with the children, what you need to pack (food, water, spare clothes, medications if needed, nappies, cloths to wipe things off if needed) and ALWAYS try to plan ahead having a back up plan in play if something goes against plans such as (bad weather, baby sitter pulls out, sick child, sick family member etc) because without a back up plan things can turn HORRIBLE with you not knowing what to do or where to turn if something happens on the day that wasnt planned for and this does happen quite often. Plans should ALWAYS be flexible to a degree to allow for things that can happen throughout a day which might change and you should ALWAYS give yourself 1/2 hour - an hour more on top of how long you think something should take to allow for any changes- this also increases your chances of being on time for things.
